The AGV is a material handling equipment. It is a fully automatic transport device that can automatically load goods at one location, automatically travel to another location, and automatically complete the unloading of goods. The following are the four communication methods of AGV.

AGV communication diagram

(1) Wired communication
The guide line can be used to realize carrier communication, and the wiring is concealed and not easily stained. Mainly used for electromagnetic guidance, simple paths and small areas.
(2) Infrared light communication
There is no frequency licensing problem, the communication speed is high, and it is easy to control. The communication area must be in a clearly visible range, requires mechanical protection, is sensitive to dust, and is interfered by other light sources and infrared rays of the same wavelength. Suitable for simple paths, no occlusions and small areas. Mostly used for electromagnetic guidance, tape guidance, optical guidance AGV.
(3) Radio communication
Good space coverage, not sensitive to general occlusion interference; easy to install, easy to protect; outdoor effect is better. The disadvantage is that the frequency of use must be licensed. All AGVs and terrestrial base stations in the same system must use one frequency in common and be susceptible to interference from other radio equipment. Applicable to various paths, various guiding methods, complex environments, and large areas.
(4) Wireless LAN
In addition to the basic characteristics of radio communication, it also has the characteristics of network communication, fast speed, convenient expansion, good compatibility, convenient connection with other systems, and low cost. Applicable to various paths, various guiding methods, complex environments, and large areas.
